Boys Compete as U16 Winning Charleston Select Shootout 11 v 11- Oct. 18,19 2008

After beating Hilton Head Bluffton Soccer Club 7 - 0 in their first 11 v 11 friendly SAA Leones Azules go on to Win the Charleston Select Shootout 11 v 11 Championship as U16. Most of the boys were playing up 1 to 2 age brackets. The boys did Hilton Head Island proud going undefeated throughout the tournament with dominating wins over Mount Pleasant Soccer Club (10-0) and CSSC 92 Gold (8-0). They battled back from a 2-0 early Athletico lead to tie at 2-2 in pouring rain which rendered the field almost unplayable and neutralized the boys dominant ball control style of play. They finished the tournament in fine form beating Columbia United Cresent U16 2 - 1 after being behind 1 - 0 at the half. The defense was nearly unbreachable with the only fair weather goal coming off a lone free kick header by Columbia United; this being the only time they got closer than 40 meters from the goal all game and one of only three shots on goal. Congratulations boys on a tremendous first 11 v 11 tournament; and first 11 v 11 Tournament Championship.

SAA Leones Azules U14 and U15 Boys Qualify for Kick-It World Championships At Challenge Nationals

Finishing high in their brackets the SAA Leones Azules U14 and U15 boys Qualify to move on to the Kick-It World Championships January 17th - 19th 2009 in Orlando FL!

Co-ed U13 and U15 teams take 1st place medals in Beaufort

The Co-ed U13 and U15 teams take the first place medals in 4 v 4 tournament in Beaufort. Facing some very strong competition and after losing their first match a determined U15 team won the rest in convincing fashion. To break a three way tie for first place they had to win on goals scored. Scoring 28 goals in their last match the team outscored the second place team by 10 goals in the goals scored category. The boys would like to thank a very talented group of SAA U12 and U13 girls who joined in on the fun.
